NEW HAVEN, Conn. -- Azar Swain had a career-high 25 points, including a 3-pointer in the final seconds of regulation to force the first of three overtimes, as Yale got past Siena 100-89 on Wednesday night.
Swain's 3 with four seconds left in regulation tied the score 72-all and forced the first overtime period. Then, with Yale trailing 80-78 in the first OT, Swain drew a foul and went to the line to sink both free throws, tying it at 80 with 17 seconds left to send the game into the second overtime.
In the third overtime, a 3-pointer by Cotton put the Bulldogs on top for good, 91-88, with 2:16 remaining.
It was the first time this season Yale scored at least 100 points.
Yale takes on Penn State on the road on Saturday. Siena matches up against Colgate on the road next Saturday.
