East Carolina Pirates

2012-13: 23-12 (9-7 C-USA); beat Weber State 77-74, CIT championship
In-conference offense: 1.07 points/possession (4th)
In-conference defense: 1.07 points/possession (8th)

Akeem Richmond's dramatic, buzzer-beating 3-pointer in the CIT championship gave East Carolina its first postseason title in 2012-13, capping a highly successful third season in Greenville, N.C., for coach Jeff Lebo. Now, in ECU's final season in Conference USA, Lebo is immediately tasked with replacing most of his best players. All-Conference USA first-team forward Maurice Kemp and second-team point guard Miguel Paul have both departed, and leading rebounder and shot-blocker Robert Sampson transferred to Georgia Tech. But after hitting 38 percent as a team from 3-point range in 2012-13, East Carolina should again be dangerous from outside the arc.
