When Oregon hired Dana Altman three years ago, a potentially great program had entered a deep slumber, finishing 10th and 9th in the Pac-10 in the last two seasons of Ernie Kent's tenure. Within three years, Altman's transformation of the Ducks resulted in a Pac-12 tournament championship, a return to the NCAA tournament and an unexpected trip to the Sweet 16. Altman was rewarded at season's end with the 2013 Jim Phelan National Coach of the Year award.
