FINAL: Villanova 71, Texas Tech 59 It wasn't the prettiest game we've ever seen from the Wildcats, but they staved off several mini-runs from Texas Tech in the second half and looked in control for the final 37 minutes. Villanova is onto its second Final Four in three seasons.

Villanova has just five second-chance points despite 16 offensive rebounds. 4-for-20 from 3-point range. Leaving the door open for Texas Tech.

Texas Tech has seemed on the verge of a comeback for a few minutes, but can't get Villanova's lead down to single-digits. Just a couple plays away: rimmed-out 3, missed steal, giving up an offensive rebound, etc. Villanova only 4-for-14 since halftime, zero free throws.

Villanova has played seven games in March and won all seven of them by double digits. Wildcats lead by 13 at halftime. No school has been more dominant this month.

Dhamir Cosby-Roundtree gave Villanova really good minutes off the bench with Omari Spellman and Mikal Bridges getting two fouls. He had four points and seven rebounds — including five offensive boards — in nine minutes.

Sort of a nightmare scenario for Texas Tech on the offensive end. Keenan Evans just 1-for-7 from the field, and Zhaire Smith, Brandone Francis, Zach Smith and Justin Gray all saddled with at least two fouls. Not a lot of other guys that can go get shots for the Red Raiders.

Villanova up 36-23 on Texas Tech at the half. Texas Tech opened up with a 9-1 lead — but Villanova outscored them 35-14 in the final 17 minutes. Wildcats killing Tech on the glass and at the free-throw line. With neither team shooting that well, that's been the difference.

Jalen Brunson's first field goal of the game comes with four minutes left in the half. If he gets going, the Red Raiders' comeback hopes will be in trouble.

Jeff Borzello ESPN Staff Writer

Villanova took the early punch in the mouth from Texas Tech, going down 9-1. Responded with a 20-6 run. Now up six. Red Raiders struggling to generate consistent offense in the halfcourt.

Omari Spellman evidently hasn't cooled off since Friday. Already buried a 3 and went off the dribble for a bucket and foul.
