The Temple Owls are once again heading to the NCAA tournament, rebounding from the graduation of a prolific backcourt, and hoping to make the Sweet 16 for the first time in the Fran Dunphy era. What has to go right for the Owls get out of the first weekend, and what keeps them from getting there?

ESPN Insider has your answers, as Joe Lunardi has enlisted a team of Bracketologists to compile advanced metrics, key scouting intel and best- and worst-case tournament scenarios for all 68 teams, in order to help you make smart picks in your bracket. Plus, as Lunardi fills out his bracket, he'll give you his prediction on how each team will fare.

Lunardi's Logic

The Owls figure to have at least one chip on their shoulder entering the tournament. They laid an egg last season as a No. 5 seed against South Florida, and they were one-and-one in the recent Atlantic 10 tourney after compiling a seven-game winning streak. Fran Dunphy apologized for the latter and made his team watch the Selection Show in private. Look for the Owls to come out firing (and winning) in Dayton.

Best wins: Syracuse, Saint Louis, VCU,

Worst losses: Canisius, Duquesne,
