September call-ups have begun to trickle in with the expansion of active rosters from 25 men to 40 on Sept. 1, although many teams are waiting until their minor league affiliates' seasons end (including playoffs) before recalling some top prospects. Here are my short- and long-term outlooks for eight of the most interesting or notable names recalled so far this month.
Jurickson Profar, SS
The best prospect in baseball debuted this past weekend at age 19 and has played in only one game thus far, going 2-for-4 with a home run and a double. His performance makes Texas manager Ron Washington's Michael Young obsession even more embarrassing as Young is now the seventh-best infield option on his own team yet plays pretty much every day.
