Dissecting the Twins' Sano signing
September, 30, 2009
After months of strained negotiations with several teams, prized shortstop prospect Miguel Angel Sano appears to have come to terms on a $3.15 million deal with the Minnesota Twins. Initially, the Pittsburgh Pirates appeared to be the front-runners for Sano, but a strained relationship between Sano's family, agent Rob Plummer and the team apparently nixed the deal. Plummer, who has negotiated some of the biggest bonuses in Latin America, can claim another victory.
