The long road trip is one of the great adventures for a ballplayer for the first couple of days. Then it gets really old, really fast. There's no bigger grind in baseball and it's because there's so much that goes into a long road trip. You have to deal with the little things like tons of travel, different ballparks and of course having to find out where to eat.

This is probably the worst part of a road trip, because you're missing your family and the familiar surroundings of home. It's no fun at all if you have a small child at home you want to play with but can't because you're on the road sitting in some hotel room, watching movies or ESPN.
