This is what Beltran can do

PHILADELPHIA -- The New York Mets invested $119 million in Carlos Beltran based on his ability to hit for average, hit with power, run, field and throw.

That's $23.8 million for each of Beltran's five tools -- or, as owner Fred Wilpon might call them, "skill sets."

Some attributes can't be measured by the Internal Revenue Service or the 20-80 scouts rating scale. Beltran is a devoutly Christian man, so humble in nature and professional in his approach that he fits well in any clubhouse.
