Indians did well by trading Perez

On the heels of their 10-2 romp through the last two weeks of interleague play, the Seattle Mariners swapped a prospect for a veteran on Friday, dealing minor league shortstop Asdrubal Cabrera to the Cleveland Indians for designated hitter and occasional first baseman Eduardo Perez.

While I like this deal from both sides on a pure needs basis, I like Cleveland's side better both on the raw talent exchanged and on the Indians' superior analysis of their own position in the standings.
