Steroid solution: daily or weekly testing

Steroid use in baseball is back in the news with a vengeance, and one question Major League Baseball needs to address is this: How can we restore faith in the game?

I've thought about this issue a lot. How can baseball really clean up steroid use? Should every player have to pee in a cup before each game?

As I see it, that might be the only way to restore the credibility and integrity the game has lost. Or maybe you'd start with once-a-week testing for everyone. But MLB needs more than the random testing that began in 2003.

If every player were tested weekly or even daily, we'd have a much better chance of knowing who's using and who's clean. It's true that sophisticated steroids can sometimes escape detection, but the teeth of more regular testing would go a long way toward regaining the trust of fans.
