BP Daily: The Captain just keeps rolling

Before the season, Baseball Prospectus projected the balance of Derek Jeter's career -- we said it would end in 2013. But given what he has already accomplished this season, how far out the window can we chuck the 2013 projection, and honestly, will "The Captain's" career ever end?

Consider: We projected Jeter to post a .289 batting average, .354 on-base percentage, .384 slugging percentage and .273 EqA (equivalent average) in 2009. His actual numbers to date across those four categories: .330/.396/.474/.302.

We certainly didn't hit the bull's-eye on Jeter's 2009 season. In fact, he now seems to be a legitimate MVP candidate.
