Two weeks ago, we simulated the results of the league championship series, picking the Texas Rangers and the Philadelphia Phillies as the most likely to move ahead to the World Series. The Rangers beat the New York Yankees in six games, but the San Francisco Giants, holding the Phillies to just 11 extra-base hits in six games, defied the computer to make their first World Series of the post-Bonds era.

The TV ratings people may not be excited about the prospect of a Giants-Rangers World Series, the first in five years to not feature a team in the Eastern time zone, but like any championship there are a number of key storylines of interest.
