Scouting Report: Sonics-Kings

Playing on the big stage in front of a national TV audience is a great time to step up and help win a game for your team.

Game 1 in this series presented a surprise emerging star in Jerome James, who basically is the fifth option on most set plays for the Seattle SuperSonics. He and Reggie Evans gave the Sonics 22 points and 30 rebounds, 16 of them on the offensive end.

That accounts for the extra possessions, second-chance points and rebounding difference. Those were the key factors in the Sonics' escaping with an 87-82 Game 1 home victory Saturday against the Sacramento Kings.

In Game 1, both teams shot poorly. Don't look for that trend to continue. Let's break down the matchups and see what adjustments might be coming ahead.
