Scouting Report: Pistons-Spurs Game 7

Keys in Game 6
San Antonio: The Spurs played well enough to win on most nights. But not well enough to eliminate the defending champions and win a championship themselves. Tim Duncan had 21 points and 15 rebounds but was out of sorts with the repeated Piston double teams. Late in the game came single coverage but only a few times did San Antonio run its offense through Duncan, as Manu Ginobili elected to take charge of the offense.

Ginobili contributed 21 points and 10 rebounds but these two double-doubles were not enough. Twenty-three lead changes and seven ties in the first three quarters showed how close this contest was being played. But Detroit was clearly the winner of the fourth quarter. The coaches bring the execution but the players bring the effort. The Spurs' effort was very good, just not enough to beat Detroit's superb play.
