Warriors head coach Steve Kerr addressed reporters before Kevin Durant's injury was announced. But Kerr was asked about potentially finishing second in the Western Conference, behind the Houston Rockets, and what that would mean. “It's a harrowing experience,” Kerr said with a smile. “I'm just trying to process it all. Second in the conference would just be devastating.” Then Kerr added, “We are not really paying too much attention to the standings. We are just playing. We are in a good position, big picture, no matter what happens because our injuries are all relatively minor. We are very hopeful and confident that we will have everybody back when it counts.”

Stephen Curry (right ankle), Draymond Green (right shoulder), Klay Thompson (right thumb) and David West (right arm) are out tonight vs. Lakers. Thompson will be out at least the next seven games before being re-evaluated and Curry will miss at least the next four before being re-evaluated, but Curry said Wednesday, "The games that matter, I'll be out there." And what about chasing the No. 1 seed in the tight Western Conference race with Houston? Says Curry, "Obviously, it'll be harder, but it's not out of the question. We've still got guys willing and able to get out there and help us win games in the meantime. I think coach would say we're prioritizing health over rushing guys back to try to chase the one seed, but you've seen crazy things happen in this league. We have an extremely talented team that's capable and I know that guys are going to come out fighting and try to do their job and help our team win."
