Orlando has announced that they are waiving the $16.7M expiring contract of Timofey Mozgov. Before the waiver, the Magic were $3M over the luxury tax and a projected $890K below the tax apron. If Orlando elects to stretch Mozgov over three seasons ($5.6M cap hit each year), the team would now be $8.2M under the tax and $12M under the apron. The Raptors finished the first quarter a cool 16 of 22 from the field -- an effective field goal percentage of 79.5. Kawhi Leonard and Pascal Siakam each scored 17 points in the period, most of Leonard's from midrange, with Siakam exacting damage all over the floor. The Sixers were no slouch -- 13 of 22 from the field, including 4 of 7 from beyond the arc. After one quarter in Toronto, it's Raptors 39, Sixers 31.
