Wright dazzles at Midwest Shootout Showdown

ST. LOUIS -- The first annual Midwest Shootout Showdown saw a number of talented teams from around the country squaring off against some highly-regarded St. Louis Area teams.

The featured game of this one-day event pitted Urban Christian Academy, which has ESPN 150 5-11 PG Cashmere Wright (Savannah, Ga.), against IMG Academy (Bradenton, Fla.) with two ESPN 150 prospects of its own, 6-10 C Florida-bound Kenneth Kadji and 6-8 F Louisville recruit Jared Swopshire. IMG eventually utilized its size advantage and deeper bench to gain the win.

Wright clearly possessed more natural ability than any other player at this the event and did not waste much time displaying his dazzling array of offensive skills. He has outstanding quickness and ball-handling skills, which makes him a very effective penetrator and a nightmare to defend off the dribble. However, Wright sometimes tends to over-dribble, reducing his teammates to spectators and often results in bringing his team's offense to a screeching halt.
