Coaching changes often restart recruiting

As the coaching carousel spins out of control, high school recruits around the country keep close watch on the daily firings, hires and rumors surrounding college football. Even though football recruits cannot sign a letter of intent until February, many have offered verbal commitments to specific colleges or universities. A verbal by a recruit and its acceptance by an institution are non-binding. When a coaching change takes place, all bets are off for both parties.
