The arms race continues in the SEC. The Georgia Bulldogs landed Under Armour All-America QB Christian LeMay (Mint Hill, N.C./Butler) on Wednesday night, answering the Florida Gators, who earlier this month scored a commit from UA All-America QB Jeff Driskel. LeMay, who plans to enroll early, chose the Bulldogs over Notre Dame, Clemson, Texas A&M and Auburn.
LeMay has said all along he was looking for a school that runs more of a pro-style offense as opposed to a spread offense. After seeing the success of former Georgia QB Matthew Stafford, who was the No. 1 overall pick in the 2009 NFL draft, and talking with coach Mark Richt and other coaches, LeMay decided this offense was the best fit. It's not that LeMay couldn't have played in a spread -- he has the athleticism to fit in just about any offense and offers scheme versatility to any coaching staff -- but the pro-style offense fits his skills the best.
