High School QBs most complex position to evaluate

The most important position in all of sports when it comes to winning and losing is the quarterback. It is also the most complex position to evaluate for players coming out of high school and college, because there are so many factors that can determine success or failure, and often many have nothing to do with physical traits.

At the high school level we are evaluating kids -- not men -- who have so much growing to do mentally and physically, and while some might have tapped out their upside, most have yet to realize their potential. Because intangibles are such a factor and cannot be seen on film, many quarterbacks can be misevaluated coming out of high school. Let's not forget, these are 17-year-old kids, and making projections about that player two to four years in the future is not an exact science.
