Two-sport star weighs options

I spent several weeks working on my top 100 and, as always, ranking the top players was extremely difficult. After meeting with every person on the list, except LaMarcus Coker, and watching film on all 100, I can place quarterback Greg Paulus at No. 2 with no hesitation.

The 6-2, 185-pounder from Syracuse (Christian Brothers), N.Y., looks like a cross between Joe Montana and Brett Favre. His film shows a signal caller with a quick release, exceptional timing and instincts, coolness under pressure and the ability to buy time in the pocket. If that's not impressive enough, Paulus has a high release point, tremendous mechanics, big-time arm strength and his ability to lead receivers on crossing routes is exceptional.

Paulus' stats are outstanding. As a junior, he completed 180 of 290 passes for 2,841 yards and 33 TDs. As a sophomore, he threw for 3,019 yards and 45 scores. Overall, he has totaled 8,083 yards and 109 touchdowns, while in completing 62 percent of his passes.
