Mike Miller spent the 2005-06 season with players he inherited from the Rick Samuels regime.

That definitely won't be the case this season.

Miller, former head coach at Texas State (1995-2000), was hired in the spring of 2005 and was able to bring in only one player for his debut season with the Panthers.

This year, Miller has eight new players, and there are only four players remaining from the Samuels regime.

"We want to play a certain way and need guys who are willing to do that," Miller said. "We have guys who are buying into how we want to play. What we had to do is start on the defensive end and be defensive minded and make it difficult for our opponents to get shots and score and be an aggressive rebounding team.

"On the offensive end, we've got to be efficient and have enough versatility to do different things."

One of the holders from Samuels' tenure is a good one.
