CBB Summer Buzz: UConn

Insider knows you're hot for hoops during the summer, so we bring you a closer look at five programs on the rise, five on the way down and five at a crossroads. On Wednesday, we continue our look at teams at a crossroads (whose fortunes could go either way this season) with Connecticut. Next up on Thursday: Maryland.

UConn Huskies

31-5 (NCAA Final Four)

Coach Jim Calhoun's crew faces some sizeable questions heading into the 2009-10 season. And, with all due respect to past seniors Craig Austrie and A.J. Price, when you consider the Huskies' loss of 7-foot-3 center Hasheem Thabeet and tank-like power forward Jeff Adrien, the emphasis is most definitely on "size."

UConn will be utterly transformed from the inside out with three new starters entering the mix. But with the nation's sixth-ranked recruiting class coming to campus, the Huskies have the potential to again ascend the heights of the Big East. And that's before they unwrap a midseason gift in the form of a high-flying forward.

To see how the Huskies plan to replace Thabeet and Adrien, which recruits are ready to step in and how Kemba Walker spent his summer, you must be an ESPN Insider.Insider
