No one heads up a program, even his alma mater, for 13 years without a healthy dose of perspective.

For four seasons, Rice coach Willis Wilson, the man with the longest tenure at his school in the new Conference USA, knew he could roll a double-double with Michael Harris every night. By the 2004-05 season, Harris was a 20-10 guy, one of the most under appreciated superstars in college basketball and Rice's all-time leader in points (2,014) and rebounds (1,011). Collegeinsider.com saw fit to dub Harris its national most valuable player.

While Harris, a 6-6, 240-pound forward who forged his mark with the lost art of the post-up, tried to prove he's not a tweener in the Dallas Mavericks' summer camp, Wilson has to discover some new history writers.
