If you were going to make a list of the most irreplaceable players in college football, it would be very quarterback-heavy. How could you leave off Andrew Luck, Kellen Moore or Robert Griffin? Then again, think how vital Aaron Murray is to Georgia's hopes in 2011. And what about Illinois' Nathan Scheelhaase? Or Geno Smith at West Virginia?
For this week's top-10 list, we're looking at the sport's most irreplaceable players who aren't QBs:
1. Trent Richardson, RB, Alabama Crimson Tide
Yes, Alabama's defense is loaded and probably will be tops in the country, and the Tide's offensive line is stacked, too, but it'll be Richardson who makes the scoreboard move in 2011. The powerhouse junior is equally adept at running inside and working out of the backfield as a receiver. As the Tide breaks in a new QB, Richardson will be the engine to this year's Bama machine as it makes a run at another BCS title.
