Best recruiting classes from the last 10 years

January, 31, 2006
With signing day taking center stage on Wednesday and with me about to take a road trip, the weekly list gets bumped to Tuesday. Today's subject is the best recruiting classes of the last decade. It's worth noting, especially this week, that many of these classes weren't even regarded as top-10 classes the year they were signed.

No. 1: 1997 Miami

Stars: WRs Santana Moss and Reggie Wayne, LB Dan Morgan, safety Ed Reed.

Supporting cast: OT Joaquin Gonzalez, OGs Ed Wilkins and Martin Bibla formed one of the better O-lines in college football history. The 'Canes also picked up two capable DBs, James Lewis and Markese Fitzgerald. RB Najeh Davenport started at FB on Miami's 2001 title team. WR Daryl Jones and DB Leonard Myers also went on to play in the NFL.
