News and reaction

My take on some recent college football news that will affect recruiting:

1. The NCAA's stance of banning schools that don't satisfy a minimal APR rating from postseason events
I believe student-athletes should truly be student-athletes, so you'll rarely find me knocking anyone for upping academic standards. However, why should a player who is currently at a program face a postseason ban for a coaching change, in which there is always turnover and usually a major APR hit? Doesn't seem fair.

Secondly, if this rule goes into place, it's time to implement Mike Slive's proposal to raise academic standards for high school prospects. It's not fair to enter a donkey in the Kentucky Derby then beat him when he doesn't compete.
