It is not yet the middle of August, but there are already dozens and dozens of commitments to Big Ten schools. In fact, Big Ten schools have over 125 commitments before the first kick of the 2010 season. That makes it a good time to look at how teams are doing in stacking their rosters for the future. The schools are in alphabetical order and the number immediately after the school is the number of current commitments for that school. Illinois Fighting Illini (13): In the past month coach Ron Zook and the Fighting Illini have been on a recruiting roll, doubling their commitment total to 13. However, Zook has still not landed any of the premier in-state prospects and just five of his 13 commitments are from Illinois. Zook's eight out-of-state commitments are headed up by running back, Zeph Grimes (Bamberg, S.C./Ehrhardt). Indiana Hoosiers (21): Indiana coach Bill Lynch continues to lead the conference when it comes to numbers with 21 commitments. Lynch has a solid group of seven commitments from his home-state, though he has not landed any of the very top level in-state prospects. From out-of-state Lynch has landed a very talented prospect from the state of Michigan in three-star defensive back/wide receiver Raymon Taylor (Highland Park, Mich./Highland Park).
