As quickly as four-star wide receiver Kelvin Benjamin (Belle Glade, Fla./Glades Central) announced he would make his official announcement Thursday, the plan was scrapped and replaced with a new announcement date -- Jan. 14. The reason for this change apparently stems from a conversation the 6-foot-6, 200-pound pass catcher had with new Florida coach Will Muschamp. Benjamin, who was expected to commit to Florida State on Thursday, wants to give the new Florida coach a fair chance and is expected to also take additional visits to FSU and Miami. Oddly enough as much as this seems to help Florida on the surface, it might help Miami just as much. Before FSU stormed out in front for Benjamin it was thought to be a 50-50 race between Florida and Miami. The Hurricanes, however, have been slipping for a while and fell off the map with the firing of Randy Shannon.
