New Mexico lands three more

February, 2, 2011
Mike Locksley and New Mexico have had a signing day as they have picked up commitments from three recruits -- Rod Davis (Fort Scott C.C.), Zoey Williams (Sugar Land, Texas/Dulles) and Harvellio Buie (Seffner, Fla./ Armwood).

Davis, 6-foot-3, 325 pounds, is a former player at Texas A&M. He left because of academic issues but is now ready to go for New Mexico.

"Honestly, this is a second chance for me," Davis said. "Leaving A&M was hard for me to do. I went the junior college route and really thought long and hard about my whole situation. New Mexico recruited me hard and hung in there with me. I can get immediate playing time and don't have to sit on the bench. I have to make things happen. I have two years."
