Patrick Flavin to visit Oregon, Illinois

In my high school travels this past week, I stopped in at Benet Academy in Lisle, Ill., to see three-star offensive line prospect Patrick Flavin. The Red Hawks made the playoffs this year and the 6-foot-6, 260-pound Flavin was a big reason for Benet's success this season. Flavin's brother, Bill, is a member of the Notre Dame football team but he won't be following in his footsteps. "I have about 25 scholarship offers right now," Flavin said. "I took an official visit to Cal and really liked what I saw. The coaches are great and obviously there are great academics at Berkley. I plan on taking an official visit to Oregon in November and Illinois in December. "I don't have any other trips in mind right now. Distance won't be a factor in my decision. My family told me that I have to make the decision and they would be fine with what I choose to do. I try not to look at the record of the team. Oregon can be the top team in the country this year and can struggle next year. You never know. I just need to look at all factors and make a decision."
