Gehrig Dieter in Semper Fidelis Bowl

September, 1, 2011
Washington (South Bend, Ind.) receiver Gehrig Dieter has accepted an invitation to play in the inaugural Semper Fidelis All-American Bowl on Jan. 3 in Phoenix.

Dieter, a two-star prospect who has yet to earn a BCS offer, is off to a torrid start to the season, racking up 716 yards and eight touchdowns on 19 receptions through two games.

The game, which is expected to become an annual all-star game much like the U.S. Army All-American Bowl and Under Armour All-America Game, will be played at Chase Field, home of MLB's Arizona Diamondbacks. JuniorRank, a football-training service for youth athletes, partnered with the USMC to form the game.
