Jackson's presence made every game big

Every so often, something that does not directly affect your life occurs and leaves a lasting impression.

These minor events happen every now and then -- like when Walter Cronkite retired in 1981, or when the last episode of "Seinfeld" aired, or when the U.S. hockey team upset mighty Russia 4-3 in the 1980 Olympics.

Another memorable moment will take place when college football announcer Keith Jackson leaves the broadcast booth in January, shortly after the Rose Bowl.
