Auburn vs. South Carolina

After a tight game in September, Auburn and South Carolina face off for the second time this season with the SEC championship on the line.

Auburn offense vs. South Carolina defense

• After studying tape of the first meeting between these teams it's obvious Auburn should force feed its rushing attack to the Gamecocks. When the Tigers focused on the ground attack in the second half of that game, South Carolina had no answers. The Gamecocks are significantly better statistically versus the run than the pass, but it's hard to tell when watching Auburn QB Cameron Newton and RB Michael Dyer combine for 167 yards on 31 carries over the final two quarters of that first meeting. RB Onterio McCalebb has emerged as another big weapon in the Tigers' run game since then, averaging a remarkable 8.5 yards per carry and handling a lot of the outside runs in the inverted-veer and zone-read option games. Look for offensive coordinator Gus Malzahn to call McCalebb's number more than usual on the fast track inside the Georgia Dome.
