Oklahoma at Kansas State

Surprising Kansas State has a Week 9 date with an Oklahoma team looking for redemption coming off a tough home loss.

Oklahoma offense vs. Kansas State defense
• Sooners QB Landry Jones is coming off a disappointing performance in a loss to Texas Tech, a game in which Jones' receivers bailed him out with some tough catches and he failed at times to take advantage of sound pass protection. He often threw off balance and too often missed the strike zone. However, Kansas State doesn't have the talent or depth at corner to match up with Oklahoma WRs Ryan Broyles, Kenny Stills and Jaz Reynolds, so expect a zone-heavy game plan from the Wildcats designed to take away big plays. Kansas State will test Jones' consistency and patience, so he must be willing to move the ball with accurate short-to-intermediate passes, and he has to hit his receivers in stride so they are in position to produce after the catch. If he gets greedy and/or sloppy footwork starts to affect his accuracy, Kansas State has the playmakers to turn any mistakes into turnovers.
