It was great to be at an SEC game in Tuscaloosa, Ala., last week. The Quad was filled with tents as far as the eye could see. It was a festive atmosphere culminating in a great football game that needed overtime to be decided.
Attending the LSU-Alabama game, and watching Florida-South Carolina and Steve Spurrier knock off his former Gators team, and then seeing Auburn convert on fourth-and-10 to beat Georgia on the road ... the day was another reminder of why I love the SEC so much. It's such a festival-like atmosphere: tailgating as good as you will see along with the most rabid fans -- as a conference -- from top to bottom. Not to mention the brand of football the SEC plays.
