Kentucky's Woodson shows poise in win over LSU

The opportunity is there every week. Some players seize it. Others let it slide away. Here's a look at the players (and coaches) who shined or slipped in Week 7:

Stock Up

1. Kentucky QB Andre' Woodson
Woodson's resolve was on display in Kentucky's shocking upset of top-ranked LSU on Saturday night. The senior quarterback got off to a slow start, as the Tigers' smothering defensive unit picked him off twice in the first three quarters. This came eight days after his two-turnover outing in Kentucky's loss at South Carolina -- its first and only setback of the 2007 season. Like all great quarterbacks though, Woodson refused to let the negatives affect his mind-set. Instead, the confident gunslinger continued to hang in the pocket, making tough throw after tough throw while under immense pressure. By night's end, Woodson completed 21 of 38 attempts for 250 yards and three scores in the signature victory of the Rich Brooks-era. The Wildcats are right back in the SEC East mix and were rewarded with a No. 7 ranking in the recently released BCS standings. No doubt Heisman voters also took notice of Woodson's performance.
