Crabtree's performance against Oklahoma stands out

The opportunity is there every week. Some players seize it. Others let it slide away. Here's a look at the players who shined or slipped in Week 12:

1. Texas Tech WR Michael Crabtree
Crabtree is the real deal. I was admittedly a skeptic prior to Saturday night. But after watching the redshirt freshman torch Oklahoma's secondary in the stunning upset, there's no doubt Crabtree ranks among the most gifted receivers in the nation. There's also no doubt in my mind he can develop into an early-round pick when he enters the NFL draft.

Crabtree finished the night with 12 receptions for 154 yards and a score, giving him the NCAA single-season freshman record in receptions (125), receiving yards (1,861) and receiving touchdowns (21). Sure, his statistics are exaggerated in Mike Leach's pass-happy scheme, but Crabtree would be a star in any offense. The redshirt freshman is a remarkably fluid athlete for his size (6-foot-3, 222). He also possesses exceptionally long arms and big hands.
