3. Notre Dame WRs Golden Tate and Michael Floyd
Notre Dame came up short in its four-overtime struggle versus Pitt, losing 36-33, and while we're not in the business of rewarding failure, the effort turned in by Tate and Floyd is worthy of being an exception to the rule. Tate and Floyd combined for 211 yards and three scores on 16 receptions. Blessed with an outstanding combination of size and athleticism, Floyd is a mismatch waiting to happen. He's complemented well by Tate, an instinctive route-runner with very good ball skills, and with Tate a sophomore and Floyd a freshman, the future appears promising for coach Charlie Weis' offense.
