Missouri's Daniel chasing wins, Heisman votes

With several key games still in front of him, Missouri QB Chase Daniel could be positioned to make a late charge in the Heisman race, according to several national pundits. Daniel has thrown for 2,954 yards and 23 touchdown passes and still has games against Texas A&M, Kansas and a potential date in the Big 12 championship game to help sway voters.

"A couple of things have to happen," coach Gary Pinkel said. "We've got to win at a high level and he's got to play consistently at a very, very high level. Right now, the direction of both is going in a positive way."

Daniel blistered Colorado's man-to-man defense for a career-high 421 yards in the Tigers' 55-10 romp, completing seven passes for 20 yards or more. He was especially accurate late in the game, completing 22 of his last 30 passes to punctuate the big performance. His late surge is capturing national attention, which Daniel said he is noticing more lately.
