A look around the SEC

The SEC's season was a wild ride from start to finish.

And judging by a few offseason coaching moves -- Houston Nutt from Arkansas to Ole Miss and Bobby Petrino from the NFL's Atlanta Falcons to Arkansas -- the fun is just now started for '08.

After a 6-2 start, including a 41-17 pounding of archrival Tennessee, it looked like new coach Nick Saban's $4 million salary was worth every penny. Following the win over the Vols, the Tide had a week off to get ready for LSU. When Alabama blew a double-digit lead and lost to the Tigers 41-34 on Nov. 3, the Tide had nothing left in the tank for the stretch. With uneven play from starting quarterback John Parker Wilson -- you could almost measure the Tide's temperature by his success or lack of it -- 'Bama lost the last four games including a 21-14 loss to Louisiana-Monroe. The 6-6 Tide crawled into a PetroSun Independence Bowl date with Colorado.
