Troy's bid to defend its Sun Belt Conference crown came down to the final game of the season, a showdown at home against Florida Atlantic. Both teams came into the game undefeated. Both had plenty of big play threats on the field.

The Trojans out-gained the Owls on the ground and through the air and won the time of possession battle by nearly five minutes. But in the end, Florida Atlantic forced three turnovers, didn't commit any of its own and came out on top of a wild 38-32 decision.

Welcome to the Sun Belt, where the difference between winning and losing is decided on a razor's edge.

"We just couldn't quite get it going and it seemed like Florida Atlantic was really ready to play," Troy head coach Larry Blakeney said. "Sometimes everything you do seems to go the wrong way, and that was the way it seemed."
