Pacman needs new friends

June, 19, 2007
The sad part of the recent Pacman Jones story, in which he is a witness in a shooting, is that he can't shake the friends who keep putting him in positions to be in trouble.

To get back into the league in 10 games instead of serving his season-long suspension, Jones has to show he's cleaned up his life off the field. Staying out until 4 a.m. in strip clubs with friends wielding guns isn't going to get him back into the league. In fact, the odds are now shifting toward Jones having his one-year suspension extended before he can shorten it.

Jones talked to commissioner Roger Goodell about not being out past midnight and shedding some of his bad friends. Unless that happens, Jones may never get back in the league.
