My first thought concerning the new season is whether things are going to stay the same, with the New England Patriots winning another championship. Something tells me that this year will be different, as the Patriots are going to feel a lot of pressure from within their division from the New York Jets.
I have a feeling that coach Herman Edwards' team has gotten better with a few additions. The most notable addition is the recent signing of former Patriots' cornerback Ty Law. The addition of Law to this secondary strengthens a defense that was already ranked seventh in the NFL last season. This defense already featured reigning defensive rookie of the year Jonathan Vilma, as well as Shaun Ellis, John Abraham and Eric Barton -- so the addition of Law will make them much better.
Law will bring a veteran presence to this secondary and his elite playmaking ability will be greatly appreciated when the Jets are playing the Patriots for the division title in late December and Law is giving the Pats fits.
