Niners can't afford to overlook secondary

This year's group of defensive backs has a chance to be one of the deepest classes in some time. There are not any elite players at cornerback or safety, but there is excellent depth at both.

Looking at the cornerbacks, there could be as many as six players drafted in the first round alone. What also makes this group very good is that the majority of high picks have excellent size. With NFL offenses moving toward bigger receivers who can produce inside the red zone, it's important for corners to have good size and strength. This year's class has that.

The top corner on many draft boards is Virginia Tech's Jimmy Williams. He is tall, and has solid quickness and speed. He has long arms to play press coverage. For a tall player, he is extremely smooth with his hips and can flip with little wasted motion.
