Scouting West Virginia's Pat White

Editor's note: Practice notes are updated daily and a final report will be completed on Friday.

While Pat White is an improved passer and his passing performance versus North Carolina in the Meineke Car Care Bowl was outstanding, he has marginal size and below-average accuracy for pro quarterback prospect. That's why White's chances of earning a living in the NFL as a versatile slot-receiver are substantially greater than if he attempts to make it as a full-time quarterback. The sooner White comes to grips with that reality the better.

Antwaan Randle-El is the prime example of a college quarterback using the Senior Bowl as a forum to showcase the necessary skills for a position switch in the NFL. Hopefully, White follows in Randle El's footsteps by showcasing for scouts and coaches his skills as a pass-catcher, open-field runner and return specialist during practices this week.

Note: Grades are done on a scale of 1-5, with 1 being the best.
