With a breakout 2008 season, during which he led Penn State with 106 tackles (including 16½ for a loss), OLB Navorro Bowman established himself as one of the best defensive players in the country. The junior certainly lived up to that billing in the Nittany Lions' win over Michigan on Saturday.
Bowman led Penn State with 11 tackles and showed the many different ways he can impact a game. He recorded a sack, had an interception and recovered a fumble. On the interception, he looked very comfortable working in reverse while blanketing the receiver, then showing very good anticipation as he jumped the route and made the pick. Although not a feared sack artist, all the makings are there for him to become a very good all-around player at the position in the NFL.
