Defenses will shine on Monday night

The Washington Redskins visit the Philadelphia Eagles on "Monday Night Football" (ESPN, 8:30 p.m. ET), and Scouts Inc. has three keys to victory for each team.

Washington Redskins
1. Pass protection and blitz pickup
Philadelphia defensive coordinator Jim Johnson is going to blitz young Jason Campbell from every direction with a multitude of exotic looks. Add in that the Redskins lost right tackle Jon Jansen for the year (fractured ankle) and it makes them more vulnerable off the edge. Stephon Heyor or maybe Todd Wade will replace Jansen, but neither is as good. The Eagles will unleash left defensive end Jevon Kearse and even outside linebacker Chris Gocong, which could force the Redskins to keep their pass-catching tight end, Chris Cooley, in to block. That not only affects the passing game but it also forces RBs Clinton Portis and Ladell Betts to be more involved in blitz pickup instead of being outlet receivers.
