Patriots, Colts offensive lines are underrated

After spending the week in the Film Room, here are just a few of the things I saw heading into Week 9.

Pats and Colts have hit the jackpot with slot receivers

Both of these teams get great production from the slot receiver, but they do it in different ways. Patriots WR Wes Welker is the ultimate No. 3 receiver because he has great quickness and is a master at attacking zones. He has excellent body control, is very good at settling in an open spot, possibly better than any other receiver in the league, has great feet, can avoid the jam at the line of scrimmage and can alter his route in mid-stride. Overall, Welker is a mismatch for a team that plays a base defense and tries to cover him with a safety or even versus a nickel coverage that matches him on a third corner.
